Younger
When I was younger
I was mad like thunder
I would run away, throw my shit
Thought ditching school was funner
Everything I was is nothing I am
I grew up a girl and became a man.
~JR
Flashbacks A woman who cries at night She picks up a gun, Right when she shoots ~Stefani |
Fifteen and Potpourri I wore thick striped polo shirts and had baby-smooth face. My backpack was brown. It was an object I carried a lot now that I think about it. My shoes never matched my clothes. I sold potpourri door to door when I was fifteen. ~Israel |
Homelessness So you’re homeless. You can’t breathe, you can’t see, you can’t think, you’re homeless. Nowhere to g, nowhere to sleep. You don’t fit in. Everybody looks at you. Tells you to get a job, you’re young; you can work. What if you can’t work? What if you have so many demons, so much negative emotions you find it hard to just breathe some days? You want me to work? Abandon. You’re nineteen. Where is your family? You’re an adult you should be able to do it now right? Your friends still have families. They are your friends, right? Everything’s fuzzy, confusing. ~Jess Harbin |
