Health Resources

Not all of the organizations/ sites listed below are LGBTQ specific.  Those that are not LGBTQ specific are marked with an *.  While these organizations are not LGBTQ specific, they were recommended for this site by LGBTQ youth or LYRIC staff members.

There are many health resources available to youth in San Francisco and the Bay Area that are not listed below. If you would like more information about resources or clinics, please call LYRIC at 415.703.6150 or e-mail lyricinfo@lyric.org.

SAN FRANCISCO SUICIDE PREVENTION

San Francisco Suicide Prevention (SFSP) is the oldest volunteer crisis line in the United States. Founded in 1963 with the initial focus of providing telephone intervention to people experiencing suicidal crisis, the focus of the agency has gradually shifted from strictly suicide prevention to more general counseling services.

Sexual health issues affecting bisexuals have been largely ignored and underrepresented in academic and professional literature.
